A Letter From The River Club

Below is a note written by John and Lynn Livingston in response to a letter they received from The River Club discussing their membership.

I received this letter-date on.  Both my wife and I were surprised and disappointed.  We have been members of The Plantation (now River Club) Community for 32 years.  Will Gustafson is a friend, and I respected his stewardship of the club and the property.  Lynn and I were some of his biggest supporters when he came to town, even supporting his development of the 10th hole on State Street when many members of The Save The Plantation Organization were against him, people who have now spoken up against us personally and against “preserve plantation”.  The request by Robert Taunton and Lincoln National to extend a Special Application Permit (SAP) into the neighborhoods and gain street access via the cul de sac on Fair Oaks Place with the promise in the application for Green Belt Access through the neighborhood was in our minds a betrayal of the trust we had originally placed in the “ownership group”.  For that reason, we will continue with our efforts to protect our property and our lifestyle.  Thanks to the now well over one hundred and twenty five people for your support and contributions without which we could not continue this long legal battle.

John and Lynn Livingston
