Protect and Preserve

A message from your neighbors at PreservePlantation.com.

There is a single document that can protect and preserve our shared property known as “The Plantation” forever.  It is The Plantation Master Declaration.

Did you know?

  • Many neighbors requested to join with the HOA Board as “interpleaders*” in a legal case to clarify the true boundaries of “The Plantation”.

  • The interpleaders offered to cover all legal costs, preventing excessive fees and HOA dues increases.

  • They also offered to indemnify and hold the Board harmless.

  • The interpleaders are not seeking retribution or changes to existing structures on the golf course. They simply want clarity on which property the Master Declaration applies to – property the HOA Board and AECC should oversee.

  • The HOA Board rejected the offers and withdrew from the case. However, the Interpleaders were granted legal standing and will continue the fight to protect private properties and rights.

  • The Court’s decision will settle this issue once and for all. If the answer is YES, “The Plantation” will continue as designed in 1978, preserving our neighborhood and golf course. If the answer is NO, our CCR’s may no longer maintain the neighborhood’s high standards.

Why It Matters

Protecting and preserving “The Plantation” ensures we can:

  • Continue enjoying the open space and 18-hole golf course.

  • Preserve our current recreational opportunities and social life.

  • Heal divisions and rebuild friendships in our neighborhood.

  • Enjoy peace of mind knowing any future developments are carefully reviewed for impact on sightlines, noise, traffic and safety

Rumors may suggest otherwise, but determining the boundaries of “The Plantation” does not mean there will be no development. It ensures any new construction is properly reviewed, preserving the neighborhood’s character. Do you want to keep the peaceful, open space and wildlife, or risk seeing 4-5 story buildings or dense housing developments?

The Interpleaders are committed to protecting the future of our neighborhood.  This fight is about safeguarding the rights and promises we all understood when we moved here.
